Ostrum was conceived of and built by a small group of anonymous contributors. This is deliberate. Privacy and decentralization are the two commitments the roadmap is organized around, and they apply to the people building the protocol as much as to the people using it. A publicly identified team hands bad actors a list of targets, and it gives anyone who wants to pressure or censor the protocol an obvious way in: go after the humans behind it. A protocol built on the promise that nobody can be exposed should not begin by exposing its own builders. What the contributors will say is what they have built before: large-scale distributed systems, high-frequency trading, and prediction markets, the field whose thinking most directly led to Project Ostrum.
